questions you may have

what is your session fee and do you take insurance?

My session fee is $175 per 50 minutes, which is the standard length of a weekly appointment. I have limited sliding scale time slots, but that would need to be discussed on a case by case basis.

For insurance, I am an out of network provider, which means that I can provide you with a superbill at the end of every month that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Essentially, a superbill is documentation of the code for the session type we had (individual, conjoint, family), the diagnostic code you fit criteria for, and my information. Please speak with your provider first to find out what mental health benefits they offer as well as what your deductible will be.

WHAT IS A “GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE”?

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your mental health care will cost. All health care providers must be able to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask me, and any other healthcare provider you have, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.

how can I contact you outside of session?

I use an electronic system called TheraNest, which is our one-stop shop for billing, paperwork, and securely messaging each other. Once we have a consultation set up, I will send you a link to set up your client portal, which will contain all of the intake paperwork I will need you to complete as well as a secure inbox for us to communicate through.

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, you may text me at 626.460.0134. This is my Google Voice number that may only be used for scheduling purposes. Anything that would be talked about in session needs to stay in session for the sake of your confidentiality.

In case of an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

where are you located?

My physical location where I meet clients in person is 2304 Huntington Drive, Suite 224 in San Marino, CA. I also see clients virtually via TheraNest and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. This allows for us to meet online regardless of your physical location as long as you are in California since that is where I am licensed!

what does “made new” mean to you?

To me, the phrase “Made New” sounds like a breath of fresh air as you walk outside after a rain and smell the wet pavement, anticipating the greenery that will soon start to sprout.

My hope in our work together is that you are able to breathe deeply in anticipation of a brighter tomorrow that only comes after rain washes away what needs to be thoroughly cleaned. Maybe that’s the pain of your childhood. The woundings from previous partners, friends, churches, bosses, or even yourself. The resentment you hold from life not working out as you hoped. The abandonment you feel from never being chosen. Made New does not mean fixed, but rather, restored through opening up the soft, squishy places in your heart that deserve to be brought into the light, washed off, and redeemed so that you can live an authentic, vulnerable, beautiful life.
